Recycling

Recycling all types of tires provides numerous benefits for both the environment and the economy.

Recycling tires offers significant benefits for both environmental protection and sustainable development.

Waste reduction

Recycling tires reduces the volume of waste sent to landfills, helping to cut down on pollution.

Conservation of natural resources

Materials from recycled tires can be reused, reducing the need for new raw materials and conserving valuable resources.

Reduction in gas emissions

Recycling helps decrease carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions, as it requires less energy compared to manufacturing new tires.

Creating new products

Recycled tires are transformed into new products, including gym floors, playgrounds, and road construction materials.

Reducing production costs

Using recycled materials lowers the cost of manufacturing new products, making them more affordable.

Creating jobs

The recycling industry generates new employment opportunities, driving economic growth.

Recycling Process

  • Collection: Old tires are gathered from recycling points or stores that replace them.
  • Sorting and Cleaning: Tires are sorted based on their condition and cleaned to remove any foreign materials.
  • Shredding: Tires are shredded into smaller pieces to make processing easier.
  • Processing: Shredded tires undergo various processes, such as pyrolysis, to separate and extract valuable materials.

Recycling Partnerships

RETIRE partners with the approved Collective Alternative Management System (CEMS)  ECOELASTIKA, which oversees the ecological management of end-of-life vehicle tires.
Our collaboration aligns with European legislation’s priorities for material and energy recovery, while also promoting the principles of the circular economy.
As a key partner, ECOELASTIKA collects and delivers all types of tires to our facilities, excluding those with a diameter greater than 1600mm and solid tires used in industrial vehicles. RETIRE can still handle the recycling of these, along with other rubber products such as rubber tracks, conveyor belts, window profiles, rubber mats, tartan, tiles, and more, through direct contact with the respective suppliers.

Recycling all types of tires can produce a variety of products used in various applications, including:

  • Rubber floor mats
  • Road construction materials
  • Insulation materials
  • Fuels
  • Plastic products
  • Recycled steel

Uses of Recycled Tires

  • Manufacture of new products: Including gym floors, playgrounds, and road construction materials.
  • Fuel: Tires can be used as fuel in industrial processes, such as in the cement industry.
  • Civil Engineering Materials: Recycled tires are utilized in civil engineering projects, such as dam construction and soil reinforcement.
