Variety of designs and colors
Available in various thicknesses and colors, they can be customized to meet the aesthetic and functional needs of any playground.
Installation Process
- Start: Begin by placing the tiles horizontally along the first row.
- Continuation: In the second row, start with a half tile (cut in half) and continue alternating with half tiles every second row.
- Joining: The tiles are joined using plastic dowels, which are inserted into the side holes of the tiles.
- Technique: Inserting the dowels is simple; use a hammer to securely place them into the holes of the tiles.
Legislation – Playground – Safety Floors
According to Ministerial Decree 28492/2009 (Government Gazette 931/B/18.05.09)), which outlines the conditions and technical specifications for the construction and operation of playgrounds in Municipalities and Communities, all outdoor playgrounds must be equipped with special safety floors. The specifications of these floors should correspond to the height of the installed playground equipment. For fall heights greater than 60 cm, a safety floor is required to protect children’s heads in the event of an accident. All safety floors must be tested and certified based on their Critical Fall Height (HIC value).
The suitability and quality of rubber tiles used in playgrounds are also assessed according to factors such as water permeability, flammability, mechanical strength, and abrasion resistance. The certificates of suitability for rubber tiles used in outdoor playgrounds include the following:
- European Safety Standards ELOT EN 1177:2008, ΕΛΟΤ ΕΝ 1176-1:2017 and ΕΝ 71-3
- ELOT EN ISO 9001:2015, ELOT ISO 45001:2018, ELOT ISO 14001:2015
- ISO 37001:2016, ISO 39001:2012, ISO 22301:2019, ISO 50001:2018, ISO/IEC 27001:2013, ISO 26001:2010
Rubber tiles are also ideal for:
- Schools: They offer protection from falls in outdoor areas.
- Gyms: Their anti-vibration properties absorb the impact of weights and equipment.
- Sports and recreation facilities: They provide safety, while also being easy to install and maintain.
